# DatasetBusy

> Raised when another save held the dataset (`DatasetVersionSaveInProgress`) or this write lost its reserved version (`DatasetVersionCommitRace`).

Nothing was written; retry later. [`Dataset.update_items()`](https://docs.fiddler.ai/sdk-api/evals/dataset#update_items) retries
before raising it.

## Example

```python theme={null}
from fiddler_evals.exceptions import DatasetBusy

try:
    dataset = dataset.update_items(items=items).dataset
except DatasetBusy:
    ...  # other saves kept the dataset busy; try again later
```

## message

**Type:** `str`

**Value:** `'The dataset was busy with another save'`

Human-readable error message; this class default is used when none is given.
